Final Version: Brazilian Artificial Intelligence Plan (PBIA)

The final version of the Brazilian Artificial Intelligence Plan (PBIA) was recently published. This national strategy is coordinated by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) and was developed with support from the Center for Management and Strategic Studies (CGEE). The document, presented to President Lula during the 5th National Conference on Science, Technology and Innovation (July/2024), outlines R$ 23 billion in investments through 2028 to boost AI in Brazil.

- Ethical and sustainable development – Focused on solutions tailored to Brazilian needs, avoiding dependence on foreign technologies.

- Talent development and research – Encouragement of academic and regulatory innovation, with an emphasis on safety and transparency.
