The Artificial Intelligence Institute of LNCC (IIA-LNCC) reaffirms its commitment to the education and development of talent in the field of Artificial Intelligence through its strategic support of the National Artificial Intelligence Olympiad (ONIA) and through its role as the main institution responsible for enabling Brazil’s participation in the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI).
ONIA aims to democratize access to knowledge in Artificial Intelligence by promoting digital literacy from basic education onward. With a practical and challenging approach, the olympiad encourages scientific curiosity, stimulates creativity, and identifies promising young students who may become future leaders in AI. By hosting the first national olympiad in this field, Brazil positions itself as a global reference, demonstrating the country’s strength in the development of emerging technologies.
Through its partnership with the ONIA coordination team, IIA-LNCC plays an essential role in every stage of the olympiad, from awarding outstanding young talents to selecting and sending the team that represents Brazil at IOAI. This involvement makes Brazil’s participation in the largest international AI competition possible, strengthening the country’s leadership in the field.
In addition, ONIA serves as a bridge between academia and basic education, promoting interaction between researchers and students, facilitating learning, and creating connections between different educational levels.
