3rd International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI 2026)

Information

The 3rd edition of the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI 2026) will take place from August 2 to 8, 2026, in Astana, the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan. IOAI, the newest international science olympiad, brings together high school students from different countries to compete in challenges involving Artificial Intelligence, data science, and computational problem-solving, fostering scientific exchange among young talents interested in emerging technologies.

The 2026 edition will be hosted by the Competitive Programming Federation of Kazakhstan (CPFED), a public association dedicated to the development and promotion of competitive programming in the country. The Federation collaborates with educational institutions, industry experts, and the technology community, promoting training programs, national and international competitions, and educational initiatives aimed at developing new talent in the field of technology.

Astana, one of the fastest-growing cities in Central Asia, will host the event in an environment marked by innovation and technological development. Known for its modern architecture and its role as an emerging hub for technology and innovation, the city is strategically located between Europe and Asia. In addition, it offers excellent international connectivity and high-level infrastructure, facilitating the participation of delegations from around the world.

The Institute of Artificial Intelligence at the National Laboratory for Scientific Computing (IIA-LNCC) supports Brazil’s participation in the olympiad, contributing to institutional coordination and to the preparation of students selected to represent the country in the international competition.

The Brazilian team that will participate in IOAI 2026 will be selected through the process organized by the National Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (ONIA), which identifies young talents across the country and contributes to the development of new generations of students in the field of Artificial Intelligence.

Brazil’s participation in IOAI reinforces IIA-LNCC’s commitment to promoting scientific education, research, and talent development in Artificial Intelligence, strengthening the country’s presence in the international landscape of scientific olympiads.
