2nd International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI 2025)

The 2nd International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI 2025), held in Beijing, China, brings together high school students from different countries in a competition dedicated to the development and application of Artificial Intelligence techniques. The olympiad has established itself as an important international platform for young talents interested in data science, machine learning, and complex computational problem solving.

During the competition, participants face theoretical and practical challenges designed to evaluate fundamental skills in Artificial Intelligence, including data analysis, computational modeling, logical reasoning, and algorithmic thinking. Beyond the academic competition, IOAI also promotes the exchange of experiences among students from different countries, encouraging collaboration and scientific interaction in a rapidly advancing technological field.

For the 2025 edition, the Brazilian team is composed of four gold medalists from the National Artificial Intelligence Olympiad (ONIA), selected among the top-performing students in the national competition. After the selection process, the students undergo an intensive preparation period to represent Brazil in the international olympiad.

As part of this preparation, the members of the Brazilian team conduct training and experiments using the high-performance computing infrastructure of the Santos Dumont supercomputer, located at the National Laboratory for Scientific Computing (LNCC). Access to this infrastructure allows the students to develop and test Artificial Intelligence models in an advanced computational environment, expanding their practical experience in the field.

The Artificial Intelligence Institute of LNCC (IIA-LNCC) supports the organization and preparation of the Brazilian delegation, contributing to strengthening the country’s participation in the competition and encouraging the development of new talents in Artificial Intelligence.

Brazil’s participation in IOAI 2025 highlights the growth of the national ecosystem of education and research in Artificial Intelligence, showcasing the potential of Brazilian students on the international stage and expanding the country’s presence in global initiatives focused on the advancement of intelligent technologies.
