2nd National Artificial Intelligence Olympiad (ONIA 2025/2026)

The 2nd edition of the National Artificial Intelligence Olympiad (ONIA) continues the initiative of promoting knowledge in Artificial Intelligence among basic education students in Brazil. Launched in 2025, this new edition reinforces the commitment to expanding access to AI education, fostering computational thinking, and encouraging the development of young talents in the fields of science and technology.

As in the previous edition, the olympiad adopts an educational and progressive approach, structured in different phases that explore fundamental concepts of Artificial Intelligence, logical reasoning, data science, and problem solving. The activities are designed to stimulate students’ scientific curiosity and provide a challenging and formative learning experience.

The Artificial Intelligence Institute of LNCC (IIA-LNCC) continues to play a central role in the initiative, supporting the organization of the olympiad and contributing to strengthening ONIA as a space for training, talent discovery, and integration between basic education and scientific research in Artificial Intelligence.

In addition to promoting learning and engagement among students across the country, the 2nd edition of ONIA is also part of the process of identifying and preparing students who may represent Brazil in the international landscape of Artificial Intelligence olympiads.

At the end of the competition stages, the top-performing students take part in the selection process that defines the Brazilian team that will represent the country at the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI), whose next edition will take place in August in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

With the growing participation of students from different regions of the country, the 2nd ONIA strengthens the national ecosystem of Artificial Intelligence education, encouraging the development of essential skills for new generations in a world increasingly driven by data and intelligent technologies.
